Display Coverage
LookingattheRFcoverageallowsyoutoseeiftheentireareaisadequatelycoveredbythe
RoamAboutSwitches.YoucanmovetheAPsandseehowthecoveragechanges.
TodisplaytheRFcoverageforanarea:
1. BesideShowRFCoverageUsing,selecthowyouwanttodisplaythe
coverage:
• BaselineAssociationRate—CoverageisshownbasedontheAPradiobaselineassociation
rate.Thebaselineassociationrateisthetypica ldataratetheradioisexpectedtosupport
forclientassociations.(Thebaselineassociationrateisspecifiedduringplanning,ona
coverageareabasis.)
• DataRate—Coverageisshownincolored
bandsthatrepresenteachofthedatatransmit
ratessupportedbytheradio.Theseratesarestandardforeachradiotype.
•RSSI—Coverageisshownbasedonthereceivedsignalstrengthindication(RSS I)ofthe
radio’ssignalheardbyotherradios.
2. Right‐click(Macintosh:Control+click)onacoverageareaand
selectShowRFCoverage.
3. SelecttheA,B,orGiconfromthetoolbartoviewthecoverageareaforthattechnology.
Thecoverageareaisdisplayed,color‐codedbychannel.
IfthecoverageareaprovidedbyaAPontheflooraboveorbelowisonemeterorless,RASM
displaysamessage.Thiscoverageareaisnotdisplayedonthefloorplan.
Generate a Work Order
Youcangenerateaworkorderaspartofyourwirelessnetworkplanning.Theworkorder
providesallofthenecessaryinformationforthephysicalinstallationoftheEnterasysMobility
System.AworkordershowswheretheRoamAbout Switchesandaccesspointsshouldbe
installed,RoamAboutSwitchinitialsetupconfigurationinformation,
andprojectedRSSI
informationthatisusefulwhenverifyingtheinstallation.
Togenerateaworkorder:
1. DisplaythefloorplanintheContentpanel.
2. IntheTaskListpanel,clickRFPlanning.
3. UnderRFPlanning,clickWorkOrderReport.TheWorkOrderGenerationdialogis
displayed.
